Getting started is easy, just follow these steps:

First you must be at least 16½ years of age and have a Queensland Learner Licence

To qualify for a Learner Licence, you must pass a multi-choice test. To prepare for this test, purchase the booklet 'Your Keys to Driving in Queensland' (obtainable from Queensland Transport offices, most book shops and newsagencies, or online at: www.transport.qld.gov.au)
Read and understand all relevant sections of this booklet.

When you are ready to apply for the Learner Licence, go to your nearest Queensland Transport Customer Service Centre, or in some rural areas, to your police station. No appointment is necessary.

Complete the Learner Licence Application form, provide a Birth Certificate, identification, proof of residence, pass an eye test, and successfully complete a Multi-Choice Test.


The Multi-Choice Test consists consists of 30 questions in two sections. In the first section you must answer 9 of the 10 questions correctly, and in the second you must answer 18 of the 20 questions correctly.


When you pass the test, you will have your photo taken and recieve your Learner Licence. This will cost $15.45 and is valid for one year.


Once you have your Learner Licence, call us on 1800-631-551 or 07-5445-5580 between 7.30am and 5.30pm and we will get you behind the wheel with your Roadwise Driver Trainer.

The next step: Pass a Driving Test and get your Provisional Licence.

Note: You must have had your Learner Licence for 6 months before you can take the Driving Test.
